Today I was reading an article on the CNBC website that explained how Facebook could take a $3 billion tax credit after their IPO. Sen. Levine was upset about the tax credit. I find that funny in that he was probably one of the people that voted for the law that provided this benefit for large companies to be able to take this type of tax credit. I do not know this for certain, since I have not researched this bill, but considering the fact that he is a longtime senator, and most of the senators have voted for laws such as this one, then the chances are probably good that he did.

This got me to thinking about two words in the U.S. Constitution, “Created Equally.” Those two words appear in the sentence, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

What do those words mean to you as a person, a mother, father, or human? For me, it means that we all should be treated equally the same. That no one, should be given any benefit greater or lesser than the other should be. That does not mean that there are those of us that have earned the right to receive some benefits of greater value. Nor does it mean that you should get a free ride. Like in the case of a $3 billion tax credit for a company after an IPO. This company will earn trillions of dollars over the years and can more than afford to pay it’s fair share of taxes..

If you read that one sentence in the Constitution, the way I think our forefathers intended for it to be read. Then you would have to believe that if gays want to be married they should be married. I do not see where the sentence says only if some hypocritical religious nut says it’s okay, they should be married. Why do we need a law anyway when the constitution clearly sets forth that we have the right to Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. It does not say only a select few, or only the man and woman.

Of course, there are those in this country that believe that Life, Liberty and Happiness are only defined by them and no one else.

I would also have to believe that if a woman wants to have an abortion she should have her abortion, without having to go through all the hoops that she is required to jump through nowadays. It is her body, not some man’s body that has taken up the cause for women’s rights. I am still confused about the fact that men seem to have more to say about this than women now days.

There are more laws passed in this country today, than ever before. If the laws were tested against this one sentence in the U.S. Constitution, they would probably fail the full intent of what this sentence was intended to represent. This sentence is the moral foundation of this country, and should be the guiding light for everything that we do and say between all our fellow men and women. Instead, we have thrown the sentence out the door with the baby’s bath water and tried to develop a new sentence that better fits the moral degradation of our country.

We have allowed Washington DC to control the very fabric of this country. The US Supreme Court has long since tried to redevelop its own set of moral fibers that it believes we should live by. The problem with us following what the US Supreme Court lays down in each of its rulings, is the fact that each member is appointed by the sitting president who in himself, has an agenda, that is not in line with the U.S. Constitution. You would never be able to convince me that the words, “Created Equally,” were discussed or applied to the man or woman when a US Supreme Court justice was placed on the bench. Every single one of them was placed there for a purpose with the idea of fair and just second nature.

Does anyone find the idea interesting, that the US Supreme Court, in January of 2010, overturned a century-old law by a 5 to 4 vote that will allow millions of extra dollars into our elections at a time when the Republicans are trying their best to defeat President Obama? Clearly the words, “Created Equally,” were not on their mind. Rather the Supreme Court wanted the election to be far from equal.

Even the Oracle of Omaha, Warren Buffett, has talked recently on CNBC about the fact that the tax laws in this country have been tilted towards the rich for many years. That the rich because of the tax laws in this country have been able to increase their wealth from the billions, into the trillions and that the idea of the tax laws being balanced so that everyone is treated fairly has long since been a fairytale. Just to give you an idea of how the rich and business think about taxes. They would like to see their tax rate go to zero. They talk about it on CNBC all the time. Whom do you think would be taxed then?

Most people do not listen to the news much anymore. A while back president Clinton questioned why we did not allow presidents to be elected for a third term and extend their four year term for two additional years. It would not take much for us to wake up one day and find this country looking at our own version of a Vladimir Putin. The 1% are always looking, for a way, to take control.

What you think the differences would be between the top 1% and the 99% version of, “Created Equally.” I think it could be ugly.
